Sun-Aire is called the most energy efficient furnace in the world! That’s because it uses three 500 watt quartz halogen lamps to heat up cold air quickly and safely. While the oak cabinet remains cool to the touch, the air is warmed up by the lamps and leaves the chamber 60 degrees warmer! All you need to do is plug it in (with the handy extra-long cord), and the Sun-Aire furnace will start to heat up the room.
Not “Dry” Heat, Comfortable Heat
The Sun-Aire furnace produces radiant heat. The technology is based on heat induction, which combines the warm air coming out of the front of the unit with the air already in the room. This produces warm, comfortable heat which spreads around the room starting at the floor. The systems provides a uniform temperature between the lower and upper parts of any room, even one from 500 to 800 square feet. Almost no heat is wasted with the Sun-Air furnace.
You will feel the difference immediately if you are used to the dried-out air that most central heating systems produce from heat pumps or electric baseboard heaters. Those systems usually blow out large amounts of air at very high speeds. Not only does this leave the air dry, but most of the heat rises straight to the ceiling and is wasted. The difference in temperature between floor and ceiling can be about 15-20 degrees. Now that’s wasted heat. With a Sun-Aire unit, the difference in temperature around the room is only about 2-3 degrees.
Complete Control Over the Temperature
The Sun-Aire furnaces have digital, programmable thermostats that will save you money and give you complete control over the temperature. These devices are carefully calibrated before they leave the factory. Because of the special furnace design, there is virtually no heat from inside the unit which would give a false temperature reading to the thermostat. The thermostats is sensitive to within one degree Fahrenheit. That translates into big savings because the unit stops warming as soon as the exact temperature you want is reached.
Heat When You Want It
Four different temperature settings let you set the temperature you want when you want it. For example, you could have different settings for when you wake up, leave the home, come home, and go to bed. You will always be able to read the lighted digital readout. Leaving for a few days? Don’t worry, the vacation/standby mode lets you save all your temperature settings. The easy to follow directions for programming are conveniently located on the back-side of the cover plate.
Warm the Air Safely and Efficiently
The Sun-Aire ductless furnace warms the air passing through the unit by about 60-70 degrees Fahrenheit. One of the tests performed by the manufacturer was to place the unit in a large walk-in cooler. The temperature in the cooler was a constant 36 degrees. The air leaving the furnace was an amazing 110 degrees! Because the furnace is so powerful, it only has to cycle on for a short time to fill a room or office with warm, comfortable air. The Sun-Aire furnace can heat a 500 square foot room for about $1/day.
Easy to Inspect and Maintain
A great design feature of the Sun-Aire ductless furnace units are the three inspection spots located in the floor of the cabinet. When the unit is on, you can see three small light spots on the floor under it when all the lamps are operating. This helps you make sure that the unit is operating at full capacity with all three 500 watt lamps running. When the long-lasting halogen bulb finally burns out, they are available almost everywhere for about $2-$5 each.

The Sun-Aire furnace units come with 2 inch rollers with a long electrical cord. This makes the units not only moveable, but also eliminated the use of extension cords in most cases.

There is a heat-limit device inside each unit for added safety. Should anything block the flow of air or should the internal fan stop working, the unit will automatically shut down. It will also reset itself, once the unit has cooled down.
