The technical part is fairly simple. Most of us know that getting some sun usually helps clear up acne a little. That's because the light basically is toxic to bacteria. Now the blue light has a certain nm (nanometer) wavelength that is very toxic to the P. acnes bacteria under our skin. Everyone has the bacteria, but some of us are unfortunate and it gets out of control. Fortunately science has discovered that a blue light which has a specific wavelength of 420nm kills specifically the P. acnes bacteria. It must be 405-420nm to be effective.
