What's the difference between Electric and Hydronic Towel Warmers
Electric towel warmers are factory sealed and self-contained. They heat up by means of a heating element that is powered by household current (120 volts). Electric towel warmers use very little power to operate (equal to a 150W light bulb). Hydronic towel warmers on the other hand, are connected to the hot water supply of a home and a circulating pump is required to circulate the hot water. The cost to operate the hydronic version is comparable to the electric version.
Electric towel warmers are generally more popular than hydronic, because they can be used 365 days a year as opposed to the hydronic models that are often installed as part of the heating system - meaning - they only work during the heating season. In addition the electric version warms up more quickly - taking only 30 minutes to warm up.
